How Does Intense Miami PDT™ WORK?
Intense Miami PDT™ is an effective treatment due to its unique combination of laser techniques. Treatment begins with Photodynamic Therapy, an advanced light therapy procedure that treats the majority of skin cancers and even prevents new skin cancers from forming. Photodynamic Therapy uses a topical medication that is then activated by blue light energy, eliminating the targeted skin growth. As blue light does not penetrate the skin very dee3ply, we often combine treatment with additional laser and light treatments. This customized and combined approach maximizes the efficacy of the procedure, ensuring outstanding results.
What Can I Expect From Intense Miami PDT™?
Photodynamic Therapy and other laser treatments that may be included in your Intense Miami PDT™ are generally comfortable, and most patients experience no discomfort at all. If you are concerned about pain or discomfort during your treatment, we can use a topical anesthetic to make it more comfortable. Immediately following treatment, your skin may be red, sensitive, or peeling. During this time, you should limit sun exposure to prevent any damage to the skin. In most cases, the skin will heal within a few days, and most symptoms can be alleviated with moisturizer.
